2) Three Quick Health Tips.
a) Salt
There is a great deal of false information about salt. Some doctors
say we eat too much some say we don't eat enough.
The facts are that a huge number of necessary chemical reactions in
the body would not be able to occur unless there was salt present. Salt
is vital.
However, please be aware that normal everyday common table salt is not
very healthy. Some studies have even suggested that too much common
white refined table salt is bad for you.
Try to use a healthier alternative. Use herbal salt, or unrefined salt,
or sea salt, certified pollution free.
Another factor to remember is that a great deal of junk food and processed
foods already contain a lot of common refined table salt, so there is
no need to add any more in this case. However, eat healthier and eat
unrefined salt whenever possible.
b) Sugar
Try not to eat too much sugar in your diet. Some people falsely believe
that sugar is good for you and gives you energy.
Whilst it is true that sugar does give "some" energy, it is
very short lived. Eating sugar plays havoc with your body's energy systems
and you may have more energy for a very brief time but then your energy
levels will plummet and you will feel tired and lethargic a little while
after eating too much processed sugar.
c) Eat fruit
Try eating fruit for breakfast and mid morning snack for a week and
see how you feel.
You may notice that you will lose some weight and that you are more
alert in the mornings.
Alternate the types of fruit you eat. Perhaps one morning you could
eat an apple for breakfast and then a banana during the middle of the
morning.
Try not to eat too many different types of fruit at one sitting. Although
fruit is quickly digested, some fruits do not combine too well with
others. Eat them separately.
We will have a lot more information on fruit in the weeks and months
ahead in some of our future newsletters.
