Wishing you the best of health, Kind regards, Jane Powell Customer Care 1) Overweight? - Losing a few pounds is now a lot easier.Introducing GoodCarbs™ the low GI diet supplement(GI stands for glycemic index - This is a measure of your blood sugar levels) The figures for the number of people who are now overweight keeps on increasing. In fact the levels of obesity in most western countries are at their highest ever levels. Whilst it is usually the obesity figures which grab the headlines it is usually far more common for people to be just a little overweight. Many people we speak to say that they ought to lose a little weight, but that it's easier said than done. Over the last few years there have been a number of very popular diets released, including Atkins, The South Beach Diet and the GI Diet, as well as many others. All of them are trying to make it easier to lose weight. If you analyze some of these diets you will find that there are some common elements to each. The single biggest similarity is that each diet tries to get you to reduce the amount of junk carbohydrates that you eat. The main reason for this is that we eat so many carbohydrates and also because many carbohydrates play havoc with your blood sugar levels. We
identified this factor over 2 years ago when we started the development
of our new product. It is now ready for launch and we are very proud to
announce the GoodCarbs™ diet supplement. Most people when they are hungry, reach for a snack or have larger portions of food. This results in excessive calories which makes it almost impossible to lose weight and in fact tends to make you put weight on. GoodCarbs™ is a low glycemic diet supplement which is designed to be taken either with your meal or between meals as a snack replacement. It releases it's energy into your blood stream in a controlled manner which means no blood sugar spikes. This is turns means your hunger is more likely to be satisfied with fewer calories and the nutrients in the formula give your body what it is looking for. This dramatically increases a person's ability to stick to their chosen weight loss method and means success is there to be had. There is far more to say about GoodCarbs™ and more information can be found at our main website. Here's the link: http://www.organicnutrition.co.uk/good-carbs.htm 2) Does too much salt really cause any harm? How much salt should I eat? Do I get enough? I heard too much is bad for you? Someone said "the more salt the better".What is the truth about salt? Well firstly, you may have read some headlines this week about salt. Apparently, according to one group, eating lots of salt is perfectly fine. This group had scientific speakers who said things like there was no link between salt and heart problems and high blood pressure. Also that a healthy population in general does not benefit from reducing salt. In other words they were basically saying that eating the large amounts of salt that most people eat today is ok and without problems. Would it surprise you to know who the group was that said this? The talk was held and organised by the European Salt Producers' Association (ESPA) now called EUsalt. Perhaps this doesn't surprise you at all. Maybe the makers of genetically modified crops also have all of our interests at heart when they try to tell us that GM crops are safe and don't harm the environment and are good for us. Even governments these days recognise that we are eating too much salt, mainly due to the fact that too much salt is added to many of the foods we eat. Don't for one minute think that the only salt you eat comes from the salt shaker you shake over your meals. Most is in the food itself, especially prepared meals, cereals, soups and many other items which people wouldn't immediately associate with high salt content. If you are going to add salt to your diet don't use the normal highly refined white salt you normally see in supermarkets. Use a more natural one such as sea salt or himalayan salt which has more natural minerals still remaining. This is easier for your body to digest and is better for you. So check the labels of the food you buy and find out more about the harm too much salt can cause. You might be surprised. 3) Parasites - Are you upset by these creatures?Over the last few years it has become more common for people to report having parasites. Could this be because people are now more aware of the problem or because the problem is getting worse? Perhaps it is a combination of the two. What is clear is that parasites can be a real problem for a lot of people. Not just the thought of having parasites that can be upsetting, but the fact that they can cause many illnesses and contribute to a number of diseases. Most
parasites are very small, usually a few millimetres in length or less.
But some parasites can grow to be quite large. There are many different
types and some even have hooks on them which they use to stay attached
inside the body. The only way to get rid of these is to kill them.Regardless of their size, they are not at all pleasant and they contribute nothing to your health, except negatively. They should not be confused with healthy bacteria (such as acidophilus), which help digest food or help to remove waste from our bodies. Parasites are different and literally live off you. Over thousands and perhaps millions of years they have evolved and can now be found in all parts of the world and also in our food chain. There is an effective natural treatment which doesn't have the side effects of many modern drugs. The program is easy to do and we recommend that you also consider doing a detox program as well. See our website for full details (click the following link): http://www.organicnutrition.co.uk/articles/parasite-cleanse.htm 4) Water - Do you wait until your mouth is dry? This may sound like a silly question to get your attention, but it is important. Many people don't realise they need to drink more water. They usually rely on the dryness in their mouths and throats to tell them that they need to drink more. In fact this is one of the final signals warning a person of the need to drink more water. Usually before that there are other signals, such as lacking energy, tiredness, including tired eyes and a heavy feeling in your head. Other later symptoms are constipation, overly dry skin, brittle hair and nails, high blood pressure and poor circulation. So drink enough water each day. We suggest anywhere from 5 to 8 glasses or cups should be enough depending on your activity level. Use your common sense and look out for the symptoms. After all your body consists of more than 60% water, so make sure it gets enough clean water every day. 5) Encouraging children to eat healthily. If you have children you will probably know how hard it can be to encourage them to eat healthily. You will also know how easy it is to let them eat poorly. There are a fantastic number of sweets, chocolates and candies on shop shelves all carefully designed by the manufacturers to entice children (and adults) into eating them. They spend millions developing new flavours and taste bud stimulants in the laboratories each year. Advertising budgets are equally as large in tempting you to take the first bite. Realise that you and your children are being bombarded constantly. So apart from anything else it is understandable that you may want to eat some of this type of "food". What can you do to help children eat better? One of the key things is to educate them in what are good food choices and which ones are not so good. A few sweets or chocolates each week won't do any harm, but having this type of "food" throughout the day, every day, is a recipe for disaster. Pardon the pun. One of the biggest factors affecting children is peer pressure from the friends and associates. They often feel they need to have something because someone else has got it too etc. Again one has to let the children know that they don't have to do what others do, even if this sounds like an impossible request. Another reason kids eat so many snacks is because they may not be getting all of the nutrients their bodies need. So they often sub-consciously crave other things. This combined with chemicals deliberately put into many snacks and foods, encourages you to eat more. This can make it quite difficult to eat healthily. Getting kids to eat healthily can be a real problem for many parents, many of whom are understandable worried given the growing incidence of childhood obesity. If there are any parents who would like to share any tips with other readers then please let us know. We will mention them in future newsletters. We all share a responsibility to help improve each others health and any help given is appreciated. 6) Is it time you considered doing a proper detox?During the course of a person's life, he eats all sorts of foods, snacks, drinks and alcohol etc.The body has to process all of this, use what it needs and then try to eliminate all the waste that is left. The main elimination organs of the body are the intestines & colon, the liver, the kidneys and the skin. Over the years these can often be operating at less than optimum efficiency. This can then cause problems anywhere in the body. If waste isn't removed efficiently problems can occur. If you use a car as an analogy it can help to understand this process. The car burns fuel and this drives pistons in the engine. The power from this is then transferred to the wheels etc. Waste gases are sent through the exhaust pipe. We all know that we need to service the car at regular intervals to get the best out of it. At the very least we need to change the oil and air filters and fuel filters every 6 months or so. If we don't the cars performance suffers, it costs more to run in higher fuel costs and ultimately it can lead to engine failure. Unfortunately, we can't change our body's filters as easily as a car. However, the advantage the body has is that with a little help it can regulate it's own "filters" and keep them in good working order. This is where a detox comes in. The theory is that in this modern age with heavily processed foods and chemicals and pollutants everywhere, we have to give the body a helping hand. There are some quick detox programs which can be done in a day or so, but quite frankly these are a waste of time. You need a more gentle approach, but one which lasts a bit longer. In this way you do not put unnecessary stress on the body. But you still detox properly. The advantage of doing it gently over a longer period of time is that it can be done as part of your normal day to day routine. We sell a number of different detox programs (detox 1, 2, 3 & 4) each designed to do specific jobs. We also have a special package combining all four programs as well as our Superfood product. We provide full easy to follow instructions with all of our detox and cleansing programs and we are also here to answer any questions you may have. So visit our website to find out more or give us a call. A proper detox is something everyone should do and can be a great step on the road to good health.
